COMMUNICATIONS
Our antennas and feeds deliver an outstanding performance to meet more stringent requirements. Over the years our team has developed custom solutions for different types of spacecrafts delivering space qualified hardware. We have extensive experience in the development of horns for reflector (feeds) or direct radiation (DR) working at frequencies from C-band to Ka-band and we are currently working to cover the future bands of interest (Q/V). Our product portfolio includes feeds solutions for GEO, MEO or LEO.
Our solutions include the rest of the passive components (OMT, polarizer, bends, diplexers…) to provide our customers a complete antenna/feed solution.
Corrugated horns
Corrugated horns for payload reflector antenna systems for telecommunications satellites. These antennas can operate in main frequency bands of interest (X-/Ku-/Ka-band) and provide very stable phase center over frequency.
Our feeds deliver incredible performance (customized radiation patter and very low return
loss (<30dB) and crosspolar (<35dB) levels) throughout the entire frequency band..
Spline profile horns
Traditionally, the corrugated horn has been the preferred architecture where a high-performance horn is required to feed a reflector antenna or for directive radiation (DR). At microwave frequencies these horn types have reasonable price and are easy to manufacture.
However, at millimeter-wave frequencies the decreasing dimensions begin to pose real manufacturing difficulties and extremely high prices, then other solutions are preferred. To avoid these difficult manufacturing issues and to reduce manufacturing costs while performance is not compromised, the smooth-walled (spline) horn become a very interesting alternative solution.
At EOSOL we have experience developing spline profile horn antennas operating from X-band up to mmW frequencies (330GHz) for applications such as communications or radioastronomy.
